If I am renting a house, am I responsible for flowers in a flower bed?
We rented a house for 18 months. There were some weird flowers in the flower bed in front of our house. We weeded the garden then in January a massive ice storm hit. The flowers died. My landlord is charging me for new ones. Is this correct?
Check your lease. It depends on what the lease says. Although, even if the lease says you are responsible for general upkeep and landscaping, you could not have prevented the ice storm that destroyed the flowers, so I think you should hold your ground.
