I have a table between the carrier and a photo, how can I find information on the artist?
I have a picture of a framework 1954th I removed the back and took a picture from the media and photography. It was a picture of one house or garden. The signing seemed to be "Olah", but perhaps "Olan". Have you any idea who the artist?
1st Google possible spellings of the name. 2nd Benezit is the classic, a multi-volume Encyclopedia of artists, originally in French. It is now buying in the English language, but expensive. Reference pounds are mostly academics, art and large libraries, so that you are using. 3rd www.artfact.com 4th www.artnet.com 5th www.christies.com 6th www.sothebys.com 7th If you live in the vicinity of an art gallery and a reputable dealer, you may ask the owner, look at your painting and propose ways to search for the artist. 8th You can also contact the department of art history at a university in your vicinity. President's Office Department could recommend a teacher or student, could help you. I hope that your research is fun and successful.
